Books and 2008
2008 has been one of the best years in terms on reading, not just reading but discovering new genre and expanding my likings beyond R.K. Narayan or I can say beyond just contemporary Indian writers.
- A change of Heart : an exploration into how people change in weird little ways after getting organ transplant
- Eat Love Pray: what a book it was! I was riveted from start to end, hers was a beautiful journey, touched my life in more than one way.
- Predictably Irrational: Dan Ariely is a scientist, a genius in human behaviour(Irrational at that) and a gifted writer
- Unaccustomed Earth: How could I not read Jhumpa Lahiri, had been waiting! She gives you a window to look into other's lives, a beautiful window.
- Shantaram: a book which got a little heavy to digest towards the end, but nevertheless a true class of its own
- A good Indian wife: I am surprised I say this, but yes this was the best book I read this year
- Waiter Rant: Hilarious at times, I read this just because my husband was a waiter at some point in time :)
- My Sister's Keeper: I have not yet finished this, but I will today, actually I just want to finish it, I am almost a little upset with the author, I am towards the end but still she is taking me nowhere, I would hate it if it would just resolve itself after creating such a huge drama mind you!
